KORCOS18 IEC has ended
We are here: Compassion, Creativity, Change.

Let’s come together as a community of educators to reflect, grow and connect, empowering each other to create change agents for tomorrow.  What does it mean to be compassionate? What does it mean to be innovative? What does it mean to teach? To learn? To care?

We can’t wait to host you at GSIS for the Korea Council of Overseas Schools International Educators’ Conference 2018 (#KORCOSIEC18).  We are excited to make connections with the vision to create a better tomorrow.  That begins with the idea of a "We" being in the moment together, with the commitment to be our best selves for our students.

Let’s do this.

Feedback form is now closed.
Limited Capacity filling up

Session Objectives:
1) Gain ideas for structuring a writing workshop that works for you
2) Learn methods of transforming a writing workshop to more effectively promote conceptual understanding

Session Description:
Have you ever felt like there aren't enough hours in the day to pull off everything you'd like to do with your students? Does adding a devoted writing workshop to that day seem like a wonderful but impossible dream? What if you could use your writing workshop as a natural and essential component of your curriculum?

This session will provide attendees with an opportunity to view one method of setting up a writing workshop that works within the context of the larger curriculum to not only enhance conceptual understanding and unit content, but to provide an outlet for reflection, assessment, and creativity.

Please bring a copy of a unit planner from your school and a set of your school's writing objectives for your current grade level if possible.  If not, no worries - examples will be provided!
