Let’s come together as a community of educators to reflect, grow and connect, empowering each other to create change agents for tomorrow.  What does it mean to be compassionate? What does it mean to be innovative? What does it mean to teach? To learn? To care?

We can’t wait to host you at GSIS for the Korea Council of Overseas Schools International Educators’ Conference 2018 (#KORCOSIEC18).  We are excited to make connections with the vision to create a better tomorrow.  That begins with the idea of a "We" being in the moment together, with the commitment to be our best selves for our students.

Session Objectives:
1) To show how compassion can lead to creativity that makes change via LiNK's global movement for the North Korean people
2) to show how students can get empowered by service learning that makes a powerful impact on other people's lives

Session Description:
The session will be about how your compassion can inspire you to do creative things to help others and make positive changes in our local and global community.  

Come hear the story of how Liberty in North Korea (LiNK) works with the North Korean people and thousands of student supporters and their school chapters around the world to rescue North Korean refugees in danger, empowering them to fulfill their potential as well as to change the world’s narrative on the North Korean issue by sharing North Korean people’s stories. In this movement, students’ creativity and compassion interact with each other which leads to change. They not only get to help the North Korean people but also learn different valuable life lessons such as hope, courage, generosity, compassion, leadership and communication.
