KORCOS18 IEC has ended
We are here: Compassion, Creativity, Change.

Let’s come together as a community of educators to reflect, grow and connect, empowering each other to create change agents for tomorrow.  What does it mean to be compassionate? What does it mean to be innovative? What does it mean to teach? To learn? To care?

We can’t wait to host you at GSIS for the Korea Council of Overseas Schools International Educators’ Conference 2018 (#KORCOSIEC18).  We are excited to make connections with the vision to create a better tomorrow.  That begins with the idea of a "We" being in the moment together, with the commitment to be our best selves for our students.

Let’s do this.

Session Objective:
To present a model and a set of strategies to create an advisory program that can help schools promote well being in a sustainable manner.

Session Description:
If we are to educate whole students to become responsible social agents and balanced individuals, we need to develop systems to enable them to engage with a set of skills that go beyond the academic and target the one subject they will study forever: Life.

What are the skills that secondary schools should be interested in fostering in order for students to succeed after graduation? How can schools develop systems to support the ignition, development, and mastery of skills that help students become better professionals, future parents… and human beings? Why are the formative years of secondary education crucial to nurture talents, attitudes and values in teenagers? How are schools’ missions enhanced when they know they procure the development of well-rounded individuals who will graduate life successfully? Join us in this session and learn about a model and a set of strategies to enable your school to become an extension of home, while taking care of the heart of learning: the Students.
