KORCOS18 IEC has ended
We are here: Compassion, Creativity, Change.

Let’s come together as a community of educators to reflect, grow and connect, empowering each other to create change agents for tomorrow.  What does it mean to be compassionate? What does it mean to be innovative? What does it mean to teach? To learn? To care?

We can’t wait to host you at GSIS for the Korea Council of Overseas Schools International Educators’ Conference 2018 (#KORCOSIEC18).  We are excited to make connections with the vision to create a better tomorrow.  That begins with the idea of a "We" being in the moment together, with the commitment to be our best selves for our students.

Let’s do this.

Session Objectives:
  1. Share ideas on collaborative activities to engage students in learning how to analyze the context and formal qualities of artwork.
  2. Expand Professional Learning Network (PLN)
Session Description:
Often our students come to art class expecting to just make art, least to read and write an art analysis. For many ELL's, even to read to comprehend the artwork's context is a struggle already before generating an analysis in English. Often, students see and know certain formal qualities of an artwork but need assistance in how to deepen their understanding by making connection to the context.

In this session, let's share our strategies and collaborate on the activities that makes art analysis easy and fun. In addition, let's share ways we are enhancing our students' context development and visual communication.
