KORCOS18 IEC has ended
We are here: Compassion, Creativity, Change.

Let’s come together as a community of educators to reflect, grow and connect, empowering each other to create change agents for tomorrow.  What does it mean to be compassionate? What does it mean to be innovative? What does it mean to teach? To learn? To care?

We can’t wait to host you at GSIS for the Korea Council of Overseas Schools International Educators’ Conference 2018 (#KORCOSIEC18).  We are excited to make connections with the vision to create a better tomorrow.  That begins with the idea of a "We" being in the moment together, with the commitment to be our best selves for our students.

Let’s do this.

**All speaker sessions are now FULL! Please select the sessions you wish to join and get ready for Nov.17! It’s about to happen! **

Gyeonggi Suwon International School
IBPYP Coordinator
Of Indian and Chinese descent, Mei-Lyn is a true Third Culture Adult. She was born in Canada, grew up in Toronto and holds a British passport. Her first teaching experience was in Madagascar while working in a leper colony as a microbiologist, Mei-Lyn opened a school to teach English to doctors. Medical outreach and education with Pfizer Canada launched her second career. While she was ready to"go out to the Congo to fight Ebola", her high school classmate, now husband, asked her to marry her, getting her to reflect that perhaps "life isn't just about me..."

With that, she entered the world of international education and fell in love. Pedagogical teaching through inquiry in the PYP ignited a passion for further learning and led to the completion of her Masters in International Education, Curriculum and Instruction, becoming an IBEN Workshop Leader and School Visit Team Member.
Lifelong learning has become a part of who she is and three big ideas motivate her to continue to learn, share, and inspire others:
1. Schools are habitats for creativity and wonder.
2. Her belief that all learners can explore, understand and grow.
3. Communities are for people to belong, share, and build intentional relationships.
Making a difference in teaching and learning is how she contributes to the world. Balance is created for Mei-Lyn through CrossFit, mindfulness, and parenting.
