KORCOS18 IEC has ended
We are here: Compassion, Creativity, Change.

Let’s come together as a community of educators to reflect, grow and connect, empowering each other to create change agents for tomorrow.  What does it mean to be compassionate? What does it mean to be innovative? What does it mean to teach? To learn? To care?

We can’t wait to host you at GSIS for the Korea Council of Overseas Schools International Educators’ Conference 2018 (#KORCOSIEC18).  We are excited to make connections with the vision to create a better tomorrow.  That begins with the idea of a "We" being in the moment together, with the commitment to be our best selves for our students.

Let’s do this.

3) Take away practical tools to use in your coaching

Session Description:
The American Sport Education Program has provided the National Federation of High School coaches a certification course that discusses the principles of coaching, team management, physical training, athlete behavior, and teaching.  This session will touch upon the highlights of this course and provide a forum for experienced and new coaches to learn from each other in order to improve their own coaching.  For ADs, the session will provide guidelines for training new coaches. As a certified ASEP instructor, John has condensed this course and focussed it for the international teacher and coach audience.  There will be practical tools that every participant can apply to his or her own coaching.

Change can be stressful.  Change from one job to the next, even more so, as the job fair process can be a complex and foreign experience for many teachers, especially those who have not attended one before.  This presentation will talk about some of the fairs - and companies sponsoring the fairs - in order to help the teachers understand how they work.  As experienced recruiters and veterans of the international school scene, Jim and Mike will speak to the process of preparing for a fair and how teachers can navigate their way at one wisely.
