KORCOS18 IEC has ended
We are here: Compassion, Creativity, Change.

Let’s come together as a community of educators to reflect, grow and connect, empowering each other to create change agents for tomorrow.  What does it mean to be compassionate? What does it mean to be innovative? What does it mean to teach? To learn? To care?

We can’t wait to host you at GSIS for the Korea Council of Overseas Schools International Educators’ Conference 2018 (#KORCOSIEC18).  We are excited to make connections with the vision to create a better tomorrow.  That begins with the idea of a "We" being in the moment together, with the commitment to be our best selves for our students.

Let’s do this.

Jeff Vogt

Chemistry Teacher

Jeff is a high school chemistry teacher whose 13-year experience in teaching has led him to work with students from 70 different countries.  His experience and training in NGSS began in 2015 at the American School of Dubai (ASD), a school that fully adopted the NGSS science standards as of August 2017. Over the course of three years, Jeff and his team worked closely with Paul Anderson, science consultant and Bozeman Science YouTuber, and took their science curriculum from a content based approach to a fully integrated 3-D curriculum aligned to the NGSS standards. His most recent training occurred in Hong Kong in September of 2018 where he worked with NGSS consultant Kirk Robbins, to better analyze and break apart lessons and assessments to gauge their three dimensional quality.

Jeff and his wife Lisa have been a part of the international teaching community for seven years, and they currently work at Korea International School. When not thinking about science education and how to engage his students through inquiry investigation, Jeff can be found running, hiking, biking, weight training or sprawled out on the couch in an intense Netflix binge of his favorite shows.
