KORCOS18 IEC has ended
We are here: Compassion, Creativity, Change.

Let’s come together as a community of educators to reflect, grow and connect, empowering each other to create change agents for tomorrow.  What does it mean to be compassionate? What does it mean to be innovative? What does it mean to teach? To learn? To care?

We can’t wait to host you at GSIS for the Korea Council of Overseas Schools International Educators’ Conference 2018 (#KORCOSIEC18).  We are excited to make connections with the vision to create a better tomorrow.  That begins with the idea of a "We" being in the moment together, with the commitment to be our best selves for our students.

Let’s do this.

Tomas Wallenberg

G1 Teacher and Teaching and Learning Coach
Seongnam-si, Republic of Korea
Tomás was born and raised in Bogotá, Colombia, and is an English language learner himself. He has an MA in Bilingual Education and has worked in ESOL classrooms for 12 years. As an immigrant to the United States and part of a language minority, multilingualism and cultural proficiency are at his core. He avidly believes that wherever life takes us, language is the one component of our respective cultures that we, no matter how inaccessible other things are, should always keep with us.

Having experienced it personally and professionally, Tomás is a staunch believer in the equal power of maintaining one’s native tongue and acquiring a new language, raising two beautifully bilingual children of his own.
